The compact Changan CM8 MPV was engineered as an affordable family and commercial minivan featuring a highly practical 7-seat interior layout for daily passenger travel.

The compact Changan CM8 minivan was manufactured from 2004 through 2015. Developed in collaboration with the Italian styling firm I.DE.A Institute, the vehicle utilized a dedicated rear-wheel-drive platform with a longitudinally mounted front engine. The chassis configuration incorporates MacPherson front struts and a rigid rear axle setup. Measuring 3.85 meters overall, the high-roof body structure incorporates wide rear doors for easy passenger loading. The modular cabin accommodates up to seven passengers across three rows of seating. Power is provided by a 1.3-liter four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 82 horsepower, mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. Standard equipment included hydraulic power steering, manual air conditioning, front power windows, and an AM/FM audio head unit. The CM8 served widely as family transport and shuttle taxis in China, while also being exported to Southeast Asia, South America, and Africa.
