The Cadillac XTS entered serial production in 2012 serving as the consolidated replacement for both the DTS and STS full-size sedans. Built on GM's extended-wheelbase Epsilon II architecture (Super Epsilon), it featured a front-wheel-drive platform layout with optional Haldex all-wheel drive. The spacious interior introduced Cadillac's CUE touchscreen infotainment system, paired with standard rear air leveling suspension, Brembo front brakes, and Magnetic Ride Control real-time shock dampening. The exterior design incorporates distinctive body proportions, sharp character lines, and an iconic front grille featuring the brand's emblem.
Power came standard from a 3.6-liter naturally aspirated V6 producing 304 horsepower and 264 lb-ft of torque mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. For 2014, Cadillac launched the high-output XTS V-Sport featuring a 410-horsepower 3.6-liter twin-turbo V6 and active AWD with an electronic limited-slip differential. A mid-cycle facelift for 2018 updated front and rear LED illumination before production concluded in late 2019.
