The Cadillac XLR was produced from 2003 to 2009 at the Bowling Green assembly plant in Kentucky. Built on GM's hydroformed aluminum Y-body architecture shared with the Chevrolet Corvette C6, the luxury two-seat convertible featured a power-retractable hardtop engineered by CarTopSystems. Tech highlights included Magnetic Ride Control adaptive fluid dampers and head-up display. The exterior design incorporates distinctive body proportions, sharp character lines, and an iconic front grille featuring the brand's emblem. Standard power derived from a 4.6-liter Northstar V8 generating 320 horsepower paired with a 5-speed or 6-speed rear-mounted transaxle. In 2005, Cadillac launched the high-performance XLR-V boasting a 443-horsepower supercharged 4.4-liter Northstar V8. A minor exterior refresh for 2009 introduced revised front and rear fascias and refreshed trim before production ended.
