The Cadillac BLS was manufactured from 2005 to 2009 at the Saab facility in Trollhättan, Sweden, tailored specifically for European buyers. Based on GM's front-wheel-drive Epsilon I architecture, it shared its core platform with the Saab 9-3. In addition to the four-door sedan, the 2007 lineup introduced the BLS Wagon, representing Cadillac's first factory station wagon. The exterior design incorporates distinctive body proportions, sharp character lines, and an iconic front grille featuring the brand's emblem. Powertrains comprised 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinders, a 2.8-liter V6 turbo (255 hp), and Cadillac's first-ever turbo-diesel options—1.9-liter TiD and TTiD engines producing up to 180 hp. Transmissions included 5- and 6-speed manuals alongside 5- and 6-speed automatics.
