BYD S7 I gallery (2014–2018)
Produced from 2014 to 2018, the BYD S7 mid-size SUV was a flagship seven-seater crossover equipped with a powerful turbocharged engine and advanced cabin features.
Unveiled at the 2014 Beijing Auto Show, the BYD S7 entered production as an upgraded, seven-passenger mid-size crossover SUV built upon an expanded iteration of the S6 platform. Featuring a front-wheel-drive unibody layout with MacPherson front struts and an independent rear suspension, the 4.83-meter SUV displayed a bolder exterior design characterized by a heavy chrome grille, sharp headlight clusters, and 18-inch alloy wheels. The flagship powertrain was a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine outputting 205 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque paired with a six-speed dual-clutch transmission, while a 1.5-liter turbo option with a manual gearbox was also available. Inside, the three-row cabin accommodated seven occupants in a 2+3+2 seating configuration and featured an integrated PM2.5 air purification system, a fully digital instrument cluster, a 10.2-inch central touchscreen, a factory dashcam, and a panoramic sunroof. Manufactured in Changsha through 2018 and sold in China and Iran, the S7 served as the direct predecessor to the BYD Tang.
