BYD G6 I gallery (2011–2018)
Produced between 2011 and 2018, the BYD G6 mid-size sedan served as BYD's flagship executive passenger car and the successor to the earlier BYD F6 model.
Launched in September 2011, the BYD G6 entered production as a mid-size D-segment executive sedan succeeding the BYD F6. Built on a refined front-wheel-drive chassis featuring front double wishbone suspension and an independent multi-link rear setup, the 4.86-meter sedan offered a smooth ride and a 2,745 mm wheelbase. Its body featured traditional three-box saloon proportions accented by wide chrome front bars and LED light clusters. Buyers could choose between a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 140 horsepower and a 1.5-liter direct-injection turbocharged engine producing 154 horsepower and 240 Nm of torque. Gearbox options comprised a five-speed manual and BYD's first self-developed six-speed dual-clutch transmission. A major refresh introduced in late 2014 was marketed under the BYD Sirui nameplate. The cabin offered premium amenities such as power-adjustable leather seats with memory, dual-zone climate control, a night vision display system, dynamic parking guidance, and a premium audio system. Manufactured in Shenzhen until 2018, the G6 laid the engineering groundwork for BYD's later flagship Han sedan.
