The first-generation BYD F6 mid-size sedan was manufactured from 2008 to 2012, serving as the company's flagship business-class passenger car. Architecturally, the front-wheel-drive sedan featured an independent double-wishbone front suspension and a multi-link rear suspension setup. Its exterior styling incorporated design elements inspired by the seventh-generation North American Honda Accord. Engine options included naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engines: a 1.8-liter BYD483QA delivering 122 horsepower, a 2.0-liter BYD483QB producing 140 horsepower, and a licensed 2.4-liter Mitsubishi 4G69 engine generating 165 horsepower. Gearbox configurations offered a five-speed manual, a four-speed torque-converter automatic, and a continuously variable transmission. The cabin provided generous rear legroom, dual-zone automatic climate control, leather seats, a power sunroof, and rear parking sensors. The F6 was primarily retailed in mainland China while being exported to select markets in South America and the Middle East.
