BYD e2 I gallery (2019–present)

The BYD e2 is a practical compact electric hatchback introduced in 2019 designed as an affordable zero-emission urban passenger vehicle within the brand e-series.

Entering series production in late 2019, the BYD e2 is a compact five-door electric hatchback belonging to the brand e-series model line. Engineered on a dedicated front-wheel-drive EV platform, the car features a lightweight steel unibody architecture. Motive power comes from a front permanent magnet synchronous electric motor producing 70 kW (95 hp) and 180 Nm of torque paired with a single-speed gear reducer. Energy storage is handled by Blade LFP battery packs with capacities of 35.2 kWh or 43.2 kWh providing driving ranges up to 405 km under CLTC standards. Power is sent strictly to the front wheels. A 2023 design refresh updated the styling and integrated e-Platform 3.0 components. Inside, the cabin features a 10.1 or 12.8-inch rotatable central display screen, digital instruments, and climate controls. The e2 is sold in China and exported for private and fleet use. The model represents a significant engineering achievement for BYD, combining refined driving dynamics, low running costs, and comprehensive safety features across all production trim levels.
