BYD Dolphin I (EA1) gallery (2021–present)

The BYD Dolphin is an innovative subcompact electric hatchback introduced in 2021 as the debut vehicle built on the dedicated e-Platform 3 modular architecture.

Launched in August 2021, the BYD Dolphin was the pioneer vehicle developed on BYD modular e-Platform 3.0. Designed with a long 2.70-meter wheelbase relative to its exterior footprint, the subcompact hatchback optimizes interior passenger space. Power is supplied by a front-mounted permanent magnet electric motor producing either 70 kW or 150 kW mated to a single-speed gear reducer. Battery options comprise 44.9 kWh and 60.4 kWh Blade LFP packs delivering up to 427 km WLTP range. Drive is configured solely for the front wheels. The ocean-themed interior includes flowing dashboard surfaces, physical cylinder control toggles, and a 12.8-inch rotatable touchscreen running DiLink software. The Dolphin is a key global product sold in Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Southeast Asia, and South America. The model represents a significant engineering achievement for BYD, combining refined driving dynamics, low running costs, and comprehensive safety features across all production trim levels.
