Launched in early 2022, the BYD Destroyer 05 was the inaugural model of the Warship sedan series under the Ocean network. Built on a front-wheel-drive unibody platform, the sedan features distinct marine wave exterior styling cues. The DM-i plug-in hybrid system pairs a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine with an electric traction motor producing either 132 kW or 145 kW via an E-CVT gearbox. Blade LFP battery options of 8.3 kWh and 18.3 kWh enable pure electric ranges up to 120 kilometers. Drive is sent strictly to the front wheels. The interior features BYD signature 15.6-inch rotatable central touchscreen, 8.8-inch LCD instrument display, rotary gear selector, and smart phone connectivity. The Destroyer 05 is marketed in China and exported to Central Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East under alternative names including Chazor, King, and Seal 05 DM-i.
