The Audi RS3 8V generation debuted in 2015 as a Sportback, initially carrying over an iron-block 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine making 367 hp. The major milestone arrived with the 2017 mid-cycle refresh, which introduced a lightweight all-aluminum 2.5 TFSI unit pumping out 400 hp and 480 Nm of torque while shedding 26 kg from the front axle. This update also debuted the RS3 Sedan alongside the Sportback, catering directly to international markets that preferred traditional notchback styling.

Equipped with a revised seven-speed S tronic transmission, recalibrated quattro drive, available carbon-ceramic front brakes, and optional Magnetic Ride dampers, the 8V achieved 0-100 km/h in a staggering 3.9 seconds. Inside, Audi's Virtual Cockpit added telemetry and performance displays. Combining ferocious straight-line speed with everyday luxury, the 8V cemented the RS3's status as a benchmark for high-performance compact cars worldwide.
