The Acura Vigor (CC2/CC3) executive sedan was produced from 1991 to 1994, featuring a longitudinal 5-cylinder engine layout.
Introduced in 1991 for the 1992 model year, the Acura Vigor (CC2/CC3 chassis) filled the mid-size gap between the Integra and Legend. The sedan featured a unique engineering layout: a longitudinally mounted 5-cylinder engine positioned behind the front axle powering the front wheels for near 50:50 weight distribution. Engineering priorities for this generation focused on structural rigidity, chassis refinement, and elevating active safety capabilities.
Powering the Vigor was a 2.5-liter 20-valve inline-five G25A1 engine generating 176 horsepower, paired with a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission. Standard features included leather seating, wooden cabin accents, and a DSP audio system. Suspension was double-wishbone all around. The Vigor was replaced in 1995 by the Acura TL. A comprehensive list of standard features combined with proven powertrain durability helped secure a strong market presence in its segment.
