Launched in late 2020 for the 2021 model year, the second-generation Acura TLX (UB5-UB7) transitioned to a dedicated sports sedan platform featuring double-wishbone front suspension and a multi-link rear setup. The new architecture delivered a dramatically longer dash-to-axle ratio, increased torsional rigidity, and a lower, wider stance. Interior advancements included a touchpad-controlled infotainment system, ambient lighting options, and enhanced sound isolation. Engineering priorities for this generation focused on structural rigidity, chassis refinement, and elevating active safety capabilities.

The standard engine is a 2.0-liter turbocharged K20C6 four-cylinder making 272 horsepower mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission, available with FWD or fourth-generation SH-AWD. The performance line culminated in the TLX Type S, equipped with a 3.0-liter single-scroll V6 turbo engine generating 355 horsepower, Brembo four-piston front brake calipers, and a stiffer structural bracing package.
