Acura TLX I (UB1-UB4) gallery (2014–2020)
The first-generation Acura TLX (UB1-UB4) executive sedan was produced from 2014 to 2020, consolidating the TL and TSX model lines into a single product.
Unveiled at the 2014 New York International Auto Show, the first-generation Acura TLX (UB1-UB4 chassis codes) replaced both the TL and TSX sedans in Acura's lineup. Built on a rigid unibody architecture, front-wheel drive models featured Precision All-Wheel Steer (P-AWS) technology to adjust rear-wheel toe angles dynamically. Higher-tier models offered full Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) for active rear torque distribution. Engineering priorities for this generation focused on structural rigidity, chassis refinement, and elevating active safety capabilities.
Powertrains comprised a 206-horsepower 2.4-liter K24V7 four-cylinder paired with an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission with a torque converter, and a 290-horsepower 3.5-liter J35Y6 V6 paired with a 9-speed automatic. A mid-cycle update for the 2018 model year restyled the front fascia with Acura's Diamond Pentagon grille, standardized the AcuraWatch safety suite, and introduced an aggressive A-Spec appearance package. A comprehensive list of standard features combined with proven powertrain durability helped secure a strong market presence in its segment.
