Acura NSX I (NA1/NA2) gallery (1990–2005)

The first-generation Acura NSX mid-engine sports car debuted in 1989 and launched for the 1991 model year. It redefined supercar usability and engineering by featuring the world's first all-aluminum monocoque chassis, suspension, and body panels. F1 legend Ayrton Senna assisted in fine-tuning chassis stiffness and handling precision on the Nürburgring. Initially offered as a fixed-roof coupe, the lineup expanded in 1995 with the NSX-T featuring a removable targa roof panel. Engineering priorities for this generation focused on structural rigidity, chassis refinement, and elevating active safety capabilities.

Initial NA1 models carried a mid-mounted 3.0-liter C30A V6 engine producing 270 horsepower, equipped with titanium connecting rods and VTEC variable valve timing. In 1997, the NA2 update introduced a larger 3.2-liter C32B engine producing 290 horsepower paired with a new six-speed manual transmission. A comprehensive 2002 restyle replaced the pop-up headlights with fixed HID units and revised suspension tuning before production concluded in 2005. A comprehensive list of standard features combined with proven powertrain durability helped secure a strong market presence in its segment.
