The Acura CSX (FD5) compact executive sedan was produced from 2005 to 2011 for Canada, based on the 8th-gen Civic.
Launching in late 2005 for the 2006 model year, the Acura CSX (FD5 chassis) succeeded the EL as Acura's entry-level vehicle in Canada. Utilizing the eighth-generation global Honda Civic platform, the CSX inherited the exterior styling of the JDM/European Civic sedan, augmented by Acura badging and luxury interior appointments. Engineering priorities for this generation focused on structural rigidity, chassis refinement, and elevating active safety capabilities.
Base models used a 2.0-liter K20Z2 four-cylinder engine making 155 horsepower, paired with a 5-speed manual or 5-speed automatic with paddle shifters. In 2007, Acura introduced the CSX Type-S featuring a 197-horsepower 2.0-liter K20Z3 engine, close-ratio 6-speed manual, and helical LSD. A 2009 update aligned the front grille with Acura's Power Plenum design language. A comprehensive list of standard features combined with proven powertrain durability helped secure a strong market presence in its segment.
