Volvo is going to launch a new vehicle at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show which is in a segment of its own.
The automaker made a statement today about presentation of a “Cross Country” version of the S60 sedan. It will happen at the Auto Show in Detroit. The company wants to benefit from a new skew on crossovers with this model by creating a utility car and cross-bred sedan.
The vehicle comes with four-wheel drive and its ride height was increased by 2.5 inches. Volvo says that this combination will make the model the only indeed capable and upmarket all-road sedan crossover on the market.
Besides the higher suspension, the vehicle has got high profile 18- or 19-inch alloy wheels. The automaker’s T5 inline a V5 turbocharged powertrain producing 250 hp.
Supposedly, Volvo will equip the S60 Cross Country with the identical six-speed automatic transmission as for the S60 focused on the American market. The vehicle will be sold in Europe, Canada, Russia and America. The S60 Cross Country is said to be delivered on a limited basis sometime in summer.
