Volvo R-Design Vehicles Showed at LA
Under the shiny Hollywood lights, mediocre just doesn’t cut it – that’s why this year Volvo took its R-Design cars to the 2013 LA Auto Show.
The S60, V60 and XC60 all took main stage in R-Design trim this year for the Swedish company, sporting a bright red shade. Unfortunately, noticeably missing were the signature Polestar-painted units, but it’s clear that Volvo is going to draw another type of customers. The R-Design models include a more aggressive front end, a frameless matte black grille with high-gloss black stripes, a silk metal diagonal and a refreshed R-Design badge. Exterior changes are similar across all three vehicles, adding more life and showing Volvo cars can be thrilling and not just practical.
The interior of every vehicle also receives enhancements with a blend of black nubuck textile and perforated leather placed in each cabin. The embroidered R-Design emblem with a blue “R” is a nice feature and the stainless steel tread plates also include a bright blue “R” on them.
Both the S60 and V60 vehicles are available with 19-inch wheels while XC60 customers can opt for bigger 20-inch wheels. All 3 models were presented on 2014 model year cars, as Volvo is working hard to become a huge global company.
