New Concepts from Volvo Teased before the Presentation
Volvo is preparing for presentation of the compact vehicles.
Even though the automaker from Switzerland did not confirm what it is teasing, we believe that it is preparing to showcase the latest V40 or S40 together with a compact crossover with the XC40 nameplate. We have found out that the company will present two separate concepts next week. Both of them will be equipped with the automaker’s latest CMA platform. By the way, it was developed together with Geely. The company teased the coming-soon concept through Snapchat. This appeals to younger customers. Actually, the caption said “Not your daddy’s Volvo.”
This is not a surprise that the concept reminds the previous offerings from the producer. On the front you will see the “Thor’s Hammer” LED daytime running lights. Besides, there is the automaker’s signature front-end styling. The next-gen XC40 and V40 offerings should offer a combination of V3 and V4 engines with electrified versions being created along with a plug-in hybrid.
Expect to see the XC40 to reach the market first. This will probably happen in 2017. The S40 sedan and the V40 wagon will come out after it.
Given how popular crossovers are becoming, expect to see the compact XC40 to hit the market first, most likely by next year. The V40 wagon and the S40 sedan will follow.
