350HP for Volvo XC90 by Polestar
Polestar owned by Volvo has stated that a beefier XC90 will come out soon with a better configuration of its engine.
This February Polestar shared about its intention to create an upgraded 2nd-gen XC90. Now the company gave more information connected to this intention. So, the vehicle will ride with the upgraded 2.0-litre V4 Drive-E motor. The brand’s chief operating officer assures that the four-cylinder will be even stronger than the outgoing V6 engine. As you have guessed, the engine will be both supercharged and turbocharged. The power output will probably stand at 350 hp (or 261 kW). It will be sent through an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
Considering that the hybrid T8 Twin Engine has a combined output of 400 hp (or 298 kW), that does not sound too outstanding. Despite this, we know that the new offering will weigh less because it will lose electrical assistance. The T6 AWD weighs 2,126 kg and produces 320 hp. The XC90 tuned by Polestar will still weigh more than 2,000 kg.
This upgraded motor will become a part of other higher specification Volvo offerings. According to Polestar, they are thinking over performance hybrids.
