Volkswagen declined to participate in the Paris Motor Show
The Volkswagen brand refused to participate in the annual event in France and will miss the Paris auto show.
This decision, according to the leadership, was accepted unconditionally. The reason for refusing to participate in the show was a number of factors. First of all, this is due to the echoes of the "diesel" scandal in 2015, when the company incurred multibillion losses.
Another factor is the drop in the general interest in car events. Most people prefer to attend exhibitions such as CES in Las Vegas or the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, where you can get acquainted with the latest technical innovations and social services. The lion's share of attention was taken by unmanned equipment. However, the management of Volkswagen stated about the readiness of the company to conduct test drives for all comers during the event.
In addition to Volkswagen, many brands, such as Mazda, Volvo, Ford, Mitsubishi, Infiniti, Opel and Nissan refused to participate in the Paris auto show. However, many manufacturers have already confirmed their participation in the annual event. Mercedes-Benz, Hyundai, Suzuki, Toyota, Jaguar, Lexus, Smart, Citroen, Land Rover and Peugeot will be presented in Paris.
