Volkswagen Will Fix All TDIs In Europe
The KBA has given VW its final approval to fix all 1.2-litre, 1.6-litre and 2.0-litre diesel motors on the old continent.
Owners of TDIs that skirted emissions laws on the old continent were not offered any buybacks. The company embarked a comprehensive recall in order to install software and certain mechanical updates preventing the vehicles from emitting more than needed.
Almost 9 million vehicles sold in 28 different nations by VW, Skoda, Audi and SEAT fall under the recall. The fix will be provided free of charge.
The 1.2 and 2.0-litre motors require a software fix. The 1.6-litre motors also require a piece of mesh installed to regulate air flow.
