Volkswagen Introduces Classic Pac-Man Gaming in New Car Models

Volkswagen Elevates In-Car Entertainment with Pac-Man

Gaming inside vehicles has been around for years, but Volkswagen is taking it a step further by integrating a timeless classic into their latest models.

Bringing a Gaming Icon to the Dashboard

Pac-Man, a cornerstone of 1980s arcade culture and early gaming consoles like the Atari 2600, is now playable in several Volkswagen models starting with the 2025 lineup, including the Tiguan and ID series.

Volkswagen-Themed Gaming Experience

The version available is Pac-Man Championship Edition, specially customized for Volkswagen. It features VW-shaped power-ups and uses Volkswagen logos as power pellets. Additionally, the game interfaces with the car’s interior lighting to provide an immersive gaming atmosphere. On ID models, it also syncs with the ID Light located at the base of the windshield.

Collaboration and Accessibility

Volkswagen has teamed up with Bandai Namco and N-Dream to offer this game through the optional AirConsole in-car app. Players can control Pac-Man using their smartphones, though Volkswagen emphasizes that the game is only accessible when the vehicle is parked.

Regional Availability and Future Possibilities

At present, the in-car Pac-Man feature is available exclusively in Europe. Inquiries about its release in North America have yet to receive a response. With the discontinuation of the manual GTI model last year, there remains hope for American customers to experience arcade gaming behind the wheel.
