VW Sales haven't changed too much after the Diesel Scandal
One month has passed after the beginning of VW diesel scandal. Though, it was found out that the company’s sales have not suffered too much.
American and Canadian dealerships cannot sale any diesel cars, but a mass exodus from showrooms has not happened. All this is thankfully to customer and dealers incentives. The break in selling diesel models is taking a little toll. According to one dealership owner, it is not a disaster. However, the owner admits that the business is not usual. In comparison with September of the last year, last month sales went up by 145 vehicles to 26,141. First two weeks of this month brought mixed results. Back in 2014, the automaker’s American dealers marketed 30,312 new cars in October. In order to outdo itself this year, VW will need a 16% increase from the last month.
The whole thing is that the sales increase must not include any diesel offerings. That accounts almost 20% of American sales of the company in 2015. Clients start buying regular petrol offerings instead of diesel ones.
Interest in the automaker has decreased online. According to KBB.com, the brand’s traffic decreased by 13% from this period last year.
