Sales of new cars in Europe increased significantly

The European Association of Automobile Manufacturers informed that sales of new cars in Europe increased by as much as 74% in May this year, compared to May 2020. 

However, looking at the sales of new cars in Europe in May 2019 and May 2021, the index is 19% worse.

Like France, we should add that some European countries continue to follow quarantine restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic.

VW (+94%), Stellantis NV (+61%), Renault SA (+23%), BMW AG (+96%) and Daimler AG (+49%) sold the cars most in Europe during May 2021.
