Meet Worthersee Concepts from Volkswagen Apprentices
The Volkswagen apprentices have presented their projects for 2015 Wörthersee event.
13 apprentices from the automaker and group company Sitech Sitztechnik have visited the 34th Wörthersee GTI event in order to boast the Golf Variant Biturbo concept and Golf GTI Dark Shine.
The Golf GTI Dark Shine is on the picture. The sporty vehicle benefits from a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine. The engine is able to generate 389 hp and torque of 359 lb-ft. The apprentices have also revised the Golf GTI. A two-tone R-yellow pearl and Daytona Grey Metallic colours which are contrasted by R-yellow pearl effect stripes in the shape of arrows were added.
There is a set of Recaro bucket seats in the cabin of the Gold GTI Dark. At the same time, the rear bench seat has been coloured grey in order to match the vehicle’s exterior. Titanium black Alcantara covers the centre sections of the seats. The side bolsters and backrests boast black carbon leather. Moreover, the apprentices added a 3,500-watt audio system. It consists of 8 speakers in the passenger area and three subwoofers in the rear part of the vehicle.
The Golf Variant Biturbo concept receives power from a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine with an output of 236 hp and torque of 368 lb-ft. The German automaker says that the engine is the same as in the new Passat Variant 2.0 TDI 4Motion. The apprentices from Zwickau are the first ones who equipped a Golf Variant with it. As to the interior, it reminds of the exterior scheme of Deep Black and Alor blue. The Golf Variant Biturbo concept will probably gain some more appearances. Expect them at the opening of an extended exhibition at the Zwickau Horch Museum this August.
