Large Crossover from Volkswagen Faces Unexpected Delays
American dealers and customers waiting for the new Volkswagen to arrive will have to be patient.
The problem does not stem from technical difficulties or supply brakes. Assembly works have not been started yet because Volkswagen is dubious about the final production site choosing between the Mexican and American options. To the moment the Tennessee plant looks more attractive due to expectations of tax break period to arrive. It has even promised full infrastructure support to allure the German brand.
Many hopes are vested into the seven-seat vehicle as VW expresses the probability to increase its American sales figures with its help. However, previous interview of the company representatives reveals that it is about time the carmaker made the final choice.
During the press conference at this year’s Detroit event Volkswagen stated that the future crossover production and promotion would obtain a large part of $7 billion allocation aimed at expansion of the American market.
