Chinese Debut of VW Lamando
Chengdu became a showcase ground for Lamando which leaked into the web just before the premiere date.
Concept named NMC, which stands for New Midsize Coupe, served as a preview of the car which became a production variant. The former has been showcased in the Chinese capital earlier. Jetta likeness did not turn out to be the case because it has been decided in the favour of VW MBQ, which pretty much made the platform of the car almost identical to the latest Golf.
The German brand has also revealed its marketing strategy in China, implying the introduction of Jetta CC to be a step aimed at attracting the potential clients of Passat CC with no need in large space, and, consequently, excessive expensiveness of the latter. One of the Shanghai plants will be the assembly site, and the dealership debut is planned for late autumn with the price tag of $23,300.
A double debut in Europe, USA and Canada is not ruled out in 2016, when the new Jetta is due to appear at these markets, but such information has not been confirmed yet.
