Beetle Dune Concept from Volkswagen Ready to be Put into Production
Beetle Dune concept was shown off by Volkswagen before the official presentation at this year’s auto show in Detroit.
Having the potential features of the production model, Beetle Dune concept exploits the theme of Volkswagen’s release in Los Angeles in 2000. However, if that 14-year-old concept car did not bear very true-to-life features, Beetle Dune looks like a realizable model.
This Beetle is two inches higher, and for the launch at the show the roof of the car will be equipped with skis. This raised clearance was chosen to intentionally emphasize Dune’s all-terrain focus by its go-anywhere outlook. An heir to Beetle R-Line, Dune got a turbo engine capable of 210 hp and an automatic dual-clutch gearbox for six speeds.
More details on the new concept from Volkswagen will be known as the premiere in Detroit is getting closer.
