2013 VW Beetle R-Line Receives 10HP Bump, Starting From $30,135
Volkswagen has revealed the price for the range-topping Beetle R-Line, which will cost $30,930, and fresh specs for its turbo engine that now generates additional 10 HP.
The R-Line treatment fits the Beetle with some additional style along with the automaker’s 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that now generates 210 hp and 207 lb-ft. That same engine is also equipped now in the Jetta GLI, providing that model boost of 10 HP as well.
Both are available with a six-speed manual or the automaker’s DSG dual-clutch automatic, and VW informs that the brand-new Beetle will make the spring to 60 mph 0.2 seconds quicker than the former version. Fuel efficiency is also enhanced thanks to the new motor, with mpg boosts between 4 and 8 % combined.
Both the Beetle Turbo and R-Line receive new bumpers, but to differentiate itself from the Beetle Turbo, R-Line fitted models receive 19-inch “Tornado” aluminum-alloy wheels, R-Line badging, and Bi-Xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights. The Jetta GLI receives some slight upgrades, including fresh LED taillights.
Inside, the Beetle R-Line is enhanced with stainless-steel kickplates, R-Line badging, and a ”chrome vanadium” dashboard panel.
