Citroen And Peugeot Talk With GM To Purchase Opel

GM and the PSA Group, owners of the Citroen, Peugeot and DS brands, have stated that they are considering a sale of Vauxhall and Opel to the French producer.

There were rumours about a possible acquisition of Opel and Vauxhall by the PSA Group.

Gossips about a probable takeover of GM’s European brands are now being held in the larger context discussions about the famous cooperation between the two brands as well as “additional expansion” and “numerous strategic initiatives”.

Both vehicle manufacturers noticed that there can be no firm agreement.

The automakers from America and France are now working on 3 car projects for the old continent along with the Grandland X/Peugeot 4008 and the Crossland X/Citroen C3 Picasso/Peugeot 2008.

The discussed shared car projects sprang from the time from 2012 to 2013. General Motors was the 2nd biggest single shareholder in the PSA Group with a 7% stake.
