Expect an innovated fully-electric racing league!
The Electric GT World Series will appear on a racetrack soon. You will see Modes S electric vehicles from Tesla. Races will start next year and the league wants 10 teams to rival at 7 racetracks.
The standard offering for the event will be the Model S P85 and P85+. Thankfully to the rear-wheel drive, these cars are the best ones suiting for racing. The models will face braking, suspension, cooling and aerodynamics improvements. Besides, they will lose some weight.
The powerplant will still offer 416 hp and torque of 443 lb-ft. The automaker will offer only sedans for now, but the league is open to other brands.
The co-founder of the series shares that they have chosen Tesla as it is a 100% electric high performance car in mass manufacturing for the global market. He still encourages other automakers to participate in the Electric GT World Series.
The races will begin in Europe and continue in the U.S. They will come to their end in Asia. The tracks have not been confirmed yet. Donington, Estoril, Barcelona and Mugello may be among the used tracks.
