Dealership Delay of Tesla Model X
Unfortunately, American enthusiasts of Tesla Model X will not be able to ride them in 2014.
CEO of the company has announced that the production plan cannot be fulfilled and that the model will be shipped to dealerships not earlier than April 2015. Previous information implied sales start in late 2014.
It is not the first time the EV brand shares the news about delays. The reason for the current predicament seems to stem from unsteady store of battery cells. Tesla claims that the release time of Model S was negatively affected by the same issue. Nevertheless, the automaker will try to establish a steady supply by September.
Most information about the powertrain and performance of Model X is carried over from the concept presentation. Thus, customers should expect the three-row car to use four-wheel drive. Somewhat more than 4 seconds will be needed for the crossover to reach a 60-mph line. Critically accepted Falcon Wing technology will also be seen. The same battery array as in Model S can be expected for Tesla Model X.
