An Even Hundred of Tesla Superchargers
In caring for the drivers who want to have a steady supply of charge for their trips Tesla keeps expanding its Supercharger network.
The last week of April has become a special one for Tesla as the company opened its 100th station. Anniversary Supercharger is located in New Jersey. Opening became a sort of little event with the audience consisting of representatives of state legislation as well as brand’s bosses and common people. North America hosts the majority of Tesla charging stations, 14 of them are situated in Europe and a new row is presented in China. Less than half an hour at the Supercharger will supply half of battery life for Tesla Model S drivers. The latter are especially lucky for being able to ride for a long time avoiding fuel expenses.
Electric vehicle company’s plan for 2014 implies creation of 98% coverage of the States by Superchargers placing them in such a way that all possible road points are in 100-miles radius reach to one of them. During the time of operation more than 570,000 gallons of petrol were sold combined with almost 5 million kWh of energy generated. Apart from that, statistics claims that 5.1 thousand drivers saved $2.3 million by free charging which let their vehicles run for 14.2 million miles. All these figures account for only a week of Superchargers’ work around the globe.
