Subaru Levorg Concept Uncovered
At the today’s 2013 Tokyo Motor Show, Subaru uncovered its Levorg concept, a sporty wagon that will reach Japan next year but, regrettably, isn’t likely to arrive in the US.
Though it was uncovered in concept form, it’s unlikely that the whole lot will change once the production model debuts at dealerships in Japan in 2014. According to the Japanese company, the Levorg is a sporty, yet practical wagon that was designed for “comfortable passenger space for long drives.” The all-wheel-drive wagon will come with two motor versions: a 1.6-liter Boxer turbocharged 4 cylinder or a bigger 2.0-liter Boxer 4 cylinder, turbocharged as well.
The smaller powerplant will generate 169 hp and 185 lb-ft of torque while the bigger 2.0-liter motor provides 297 hp and 296 lb-ft of torque. Both motors will be paired to a CVT with the 1.6-liter turbo motor receiving a standard Lineartronic CVT. The 2.0-liter motor however, nabs itself a sportier variant of the transmission that includes a sport mode with pseudo-manual shifting to an 8th “gear.”
On the inside, the Japanese company has equipped it with 3.5-inch instrument dials, a flat-bottom steering wheel and piano black and metallic trim. It will also have the newest variant of Subaru’s EyeSight safety system.
Notably, the vehicle will arrive in two trim versions in Japan: GT and GT-S.
