New Subaru WRX STI will be more powerful

The next-generation model is expecting to hit the market in early 2022.

All the latest Subaru cars are assembled on the SGP (Subaru Global Platform) platform, and the new Subaru WRX STI will also move to it.

In the Japanese market, the car is sold with a turbo engine of 2 liters and a return of 308 liters. The EJ20 motor entered the market in 1989 and is obsolete, so the manufacturer is phasing its production.

According to the publication Car Sensor, the updated Subaru WRX will receive a supercharged boxer engine with a volume of 2.4 liters and a 400 hp return. The motor will work in conjunction with a six-speed manual transmission. The standard WRX will get the same engine but less power. This version will be available not only with a manual but also a continuously variable automatic transmission.
