Sportier Skoda Superb will not be vRS
Skoda has announced about creation of a sporty variant of the innovated Superb which will be presented in February.
Skoda’s CEO told that the company is playing around with the possible sporty variant of the Superb. Though, he said that it will not be a fully-fledged variant with vRS badge. If the company gives green light for production, the derivative will probably gain only visual sporty changes. As to mechanics, it will likely remain the same.
The company has not made a decision on the vehicle yet because of the price issue. Vahland says that nobody would buy Skoda for €50,000. He insists that the price should be in the €40,000 range. He suggests designing the vehicle’s body as the wagon equipped with a diesel powertrain in a sportier body.
The regular Superb is going to be disclosed in the middle of February. It is expected to arrive at the beginning of March at the Motor Show in Geneva. Dealerships will receive the vehicle without the twin-door opening of the trunk this summer.
