Production Renault Alpine will ride with 1.8 Turbo that has 300 HP
A recent report assures that the production Renault Alpine could receive power from a new 1.8-litre turbo petrol engine. The vehicle will be launched for sale in 2016.
It was considered earlier that the sports vehicle will be equipped with a 1.6-litre engine generating 250 hp (or 185 kW). Automotivpress assures that the Alpine with an unconfirmed yet name will benefit from a new 1.8-litre turbo engine now. This engine will be based on the already known 1.6-litre turbo petrol unit of the Clio RS. It will be possible to choose between three available power options: 300 PS (or 220 kW), 275 PS (or 205 kW) and 250 PS (or 185 kW).
The 1.8 TCe unit will have some identical details with the 1.6 TCe. It will also have a revised computer, cylinder head and the latest cooling system. The engine will be joined to an innovated transmission with two clutches.
The source assures that the same engine will equip the next-gen Renault Megane and a sporty Nissan Pulsar Nismo which produces 270 hp (or 199 kW).
