3 Separate Recalls for More Than 1M Ram Trucks

Ram pickup trucks are being recalled. Three different recalls are happening now and more than one million cars are affected!

The first recall embraces 1.06 million trucks in America. Also 235,925 vehicles are being recalled in Canada. FCA is recalling 2012-2014 model year Ram 2500, 1500, 3500 pickups and 5500, 4500 and 3500 Chassis Cabs in order to repair a wiring harness in the helm. The harness could wear in the result of contact with a spring. Such kind of wear may cause a short circuit. The circuit may result in an inadvertent deployment of the driver’s safety bag. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles were reported about two injuries connected to this problem.

The second recall influences 156,498 heavy-duty trucks in America. Besides, there are 20,603 cars affected in Canada. The problem is that a weak bracket weld may lead to reduced steering response. FCA has not been reported about any injuries as a result of this issue yet. 2013 Ram 3500 pickups, 2014 3500 Chassis Cabs and Ram 2500/3500 pickups are under consideration.

The third recall deals with last model year’s 188,000 vehicles and this year’s Ram 1500 Quad Cab pickup trucks in America. FCA is calling back these trucks in order to make their side curtain safety bag consonant with federal regulations. This will decrease the risk of rear passenger outthrow in case of a rollover. FCA has not been reported of any injuries connected with this recall.
