The 2025 Porsche 911 GT3: A Surprisingly Steep Increase in Price
The 2025 Porsche 911 GT3: Breaking the Bank
- A jaw-dropping price surge
- The new model will set you back $224,495, a staggering $40,000 jump.
- A question of upgrades
Porsche has recently unveiled the upgraded 911 GT3 for 2025. Although the exterior and cabin underwent some changes, suspension rework, and various improvements, the hefty price tag increase is hard to justify.
Starting at $224,495, including the $1,995 destination fee, the 992.2-generation GT3 comes with a hefty difference in cost compared to its predecessors. The 2023 GT3 started at $171,500, while the 2024 edition came in at $184,550. These numbers don't even account for any additional options.
A Familiar Engine with a Twist
The GT3 still houses its iconic naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six engine, which produces an impressive 502 horsepower. However, Porsche made adjustments to meet stricter emissions standards. The engine now boasts GT3 RS camshafts, revised heads, and new throttle bodies. It can be paired with either a six-speed manual or a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, both of which received some fine-tuning.
A Subtle Interior Makeover
The changes to the interior are minimal. Porsche introduced newly designed carbon-fiber backrests for a touch of refinement. As a celebratory gesture for the GT3's 25th anniversary, Porsche also offers the GT3 Touring with optional rear seats, a first in its history.
