Porsche, Michelin Create Brand-New Tires for Carrera GT
Though the vehicle hasn’t been produced since 2006, Porsche has cooperated with Michelin to design a fresh set of tires for the German company’s Carrera GT.
A fresh Michelin Pilot Super Sport version has been created for the 1,270 Carrera GTs that exist in the world, which will substitute the current Pilot Sport PS2 tire on the exotic sports vehicle. With over 10 years worth of tire construction dedicated to just the Carrera GT, the newest Michelin rubber is created to enhance handling resulting in faster lap times and even a “more harmonious driving experience in total,” according to Porsche.
The fresh tire includes the Porsche specification “N0″ on the sidewalls and is available in 265/35 ZR 19 and 335/30 ZR 20 sizes. In comparison to the previous tire, the new Michelin product improves mileage use by up to 10 % on normal roads and as much as 20 % on tough race tracks. Moreover, the brand-new structure of the tire includes the same tread compound found on Michelin’s racing tires, based on a “dual-compound” technology.
Right after a decade, the German company is looking after its Carrera GT customers, finding ways to increase performance and everyday luxury.
