Porsche Cayenne Turbo and its New ''Ring'' Record
The 2016 Cayenne Turbo S proved to be a new king in the field of fast SUVs.
The model is able to turn a lap of only 7:59.74 minutes at the famous Nürburgring. Therefore, it becomes the fastest production SUV ever.
The vehicle is equipped with a 4.8-litre turbocharged eight-cylinder powertrain producing 580 hp and torque of 590 lb-ft. In comparison with the 2014 Turbo S, the power has been increased. 20 hp and 37 lb-ft more are sufficient for a 0 to 62 MPH blast in only 4.1 seconds. The top speed is 176 MPH. Customers who want to hear the full force of the engine can obtain a sport exhaust system using a sound symposer for feeding extra V8 into the cabin.
Though, just an engine cannot break the eight minute record on the Nürburgring. The model has composite ceramic braking system. The brakes are squeezed by an incredible pair of ten-piston callipers up front. Body roll is actively reduced by Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control suspension at the corners.
Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus will help the model’s clip apexes by braking the inside rear wheel to rotate the SUV faster. Porsche Traction Management sends the power to rear wheels, but it will split it to the front when needed.
The Cayenne Turbo S gained 21-inch wheels and has some exterior tweaks. In such a way it is differentiated from standard Cayenne Turbo offerings. The model is expected to go on sale in spring.
