Next-Gen Porsche 911 GT3 will benefit from Automatic and Manual Gearboxes
Porsche admirers will be pleased to hear that the next-gen of the 911 GT3 will be offered with manual transmission.
The sports vehicle is sold with a 7-speed automatic dual-clutch PDK gearbox. This will change when the next generation will come out. According to the reports, it will ride with a regular manual transmission. Automatic providing faster gear changes can be obtained optionally as well.
The head of Porsche’s GT program says that the vehicle is “full of systems” that matter on the track. The director considers the GT3 to be the company’s long-term aim and the clients have to decide which approach is better.
The manual gearbox used for the 911 GT3 of the next generation will have 6 speeds. The 7-speed manual transmission of the original 911 Carrera offerings will not be considered.
The 911 R “pure” variant with the 3.8-litre V6 normally aspirated engine will be released before the next 911 GT3. It produces 475 hp (or 349 kW) and torque of 438 Nm (or 324 lb-ft). The car will ride with a manual gearbox.
