Polestar Shifts Gears with Bolder Car Designs
Polestar's New Approach
Polestar, facing challenges and leadership changes, is ready to shake things up in the American market. CEO Michael Lohscheller acknowledges that the brand's current design language is too understated for American and Chinese buyers who want cars that make a bolder statement. However, Polestar will still prioritize a confident aesthetic without resorting to radical changes.
Looking Ahead
Polestar's upcoming models, including the Polestar 5 sedan and Polestar 6 sports car, won't undergo major design changes until the release of the Polestar 7. This compact SUV will compete with the electric Macan and will be a crucial part of the brand's refined and dynamic vision.
Design Leadership
Philipp Romers, the former head of design at Audi, will spearhead Polestar's new design direction. With experience in creating visually striking models like the A6 and Q6 E-Tron, Romers brings a fresh perspective to elevate the performance-focused design language of Polestar.
