Rebadged Chinese Ute From Peugeot Will Be Marketed In Africa
The latest Pick Up from Peugeot sees the French company’s come back to the planet of rough-and-ready utes, however, just for the African market.
The Pick Up returns to the African ute market. The company left the market when Nigeria stopped producing the 504 pick-up back in 2005. Basically, it is a Dongfeng Rich ute with a new enclosure and a tailgate emblazoned with the brand.
Dongfeng owned almost 13% of the company since 2014. The Dongfeng Rich is originated on the “D22” Nissan Navara that was presented 20 years ago. It stems from the automaker’s joint venture partnership in China.
The unit received a new outstanding body 3 years ago. However, the interior was the same.
The Pick-Up is motivated by a 2.5-litre common-rail turbo-diesel motor with 86kW and torque of 280 Nm. It is offered with a 5-speed gearbox. Customers can opt for rear- and 4-wheel drive offerings.
