Nissan Xterra Will not be produced after 2015
Nissan will stop producing the Xterra in the second part of this year.
The competitor of Jeep Wrangler needs updated safety and emissions equipment for staying on the market. It looks like the company has made up its mind not to invest in it anymore. This is because of the Xterra’s declining sales which fell by 7% in 2014 to 16,505 vehicles sold.
The model has got only slight updates after it went out on the market ten years ago. Despite its approved tough body-on-frame styling which makes the vehicle perfect for off-roading, it was criticized for lack of fuel economy and unrefined dynamics of driving.
The 2015 Xterra can be seen at Nissan dealerships with several slight upgrades. They include a new infotainment system and a new exterior colour option. The vehicle is equipped with a 4.0-litre six-cylinder engine which generates 261 hp and torque of 281 lb-ft. The offering will have a starting price of $24,520 with a five-speed automatic gear box.
