Nissan Leaf Outsold Chevy Volt in July 2013 Deliveries
While the delivery of 1,864 models tells nothing, the Nissan Leaf topped the Chevrolet Volt last month by a number of 76 units.
The Chevrolet Volt, which delivered 1,788 models last month, has continually been benchmarked versus the Nissan Leaf despite the Leaf being a full electric car and the Volt being a plug-in hybrid. Nevertheless, the both companies were the first to provide plug-in models in America though last additions to the market are gaining traction.
As for the Leaf’s deliveries, it’s surely getting a boost from its price cut and current lease offer of $199 a month in comparison to the Volt’s $269 a month. Leaf deliveries in total were up 371 % compared to July 2012 while Volt deliveries were just up 9.2 %.
For the fresh contenders on the market, the Honda Fit EV had 63 models sold while the Accord plug-in hybrid 54. The Toyota Prius Plug-in delivered 817 units.
