Plug-in Hybrid from Mitsubishi Is Planned to Hit the U.S. Market
The new i-MiEV car might make the whole line look like pocket editions.
The President of the company has shared some plans for future developments.
He was rather enthusiastic about the current state of the company saying that the recover was in progress. A part of the recover programme was U.S. market broadening. Mitsubishi’s best year was 2002, and it has been experiencing a decline in recent years, but the President was enthusiastic claiming that in 3 years the volume of sales in the USA would reach 100,000.
The brand needs allies along the way and it chose Nissan-Renault. Plans regarding cooperation are not set yet, but Mitsubishi is thinking about creating a shared platform to produce Galant successor. Company’s President mentioned that rebadging would enlarge the brand’s family car segment.
Plans for i-MiEV were confirmed and possible marketing in the USA was also hinted at. The President mentioned that next-generation Pajero might outperform other cars in size.
