Mitsubishi Unveils a Sleek Outlander Sport for South Africa

Mitsubishi Introduces the XForce

Mitsubishi has surprised us with the unveiling of a new Outlander Sport specifically designed for the South African market. This sleek and bold SUV, known as the XForce, showcases a modern exterior design featuring T-shaped lights and a floating roof motif. Despite its edgy appearance, the XForce is equipped with a front-wheel-drive powertrain and a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine generating 103 horsepower.

While the Outlander Sport XForce offers decent off-road capabilities with its impressive ground clearance and terrain-specific drive modes, it seems unlikely that this model will be available in the United States. According to a Mitsubishi spokesperson, the XForce was not engineered for North America.

Modern Interior and Limited Safety Features

Inside, the XForce offers a contemporary interior with a 12.3-inch center screen and an 8.0-inch driver display. The cabin features soft-touch fabrics, tactile controls, and a triple-meter gauge that pays homage to the Mitsubishi Pajero. However, in terms of safety features, the XForce only offers basic amenities such as anti-lock brakes and airbag systems, along with blind-spot warning and rear cross-traffic alert.

Price and Availability

If the XForce were to make its way to the US market, it would come with a starting price of approximately $23,000, making it comparable to the current Outlander Sport available in the United States.

For now, the South African market will be the lucky recipient of the stylish and capable Outlander Sport XForce, while US consumers will have to wait for a potential replacement in the future.
