Mitsubishi Seems to Consider a Cooperation with Nissan
Mitsubishi’s program aiming at offering two rebadged Renault sedans failed to materialize not long ago, though a report indicates that the automaker might think about a partnership with Nissan.
Some sources told Automotive News that the automaker is considering a possibility of cooperation with Nissan on at least one sedan.
There is no much information on the issue, but a Mitsubishi spokesman said the publication that a Lancer successor will be on the first place because it is a global offering. In such a way, the replacement of Galant is on an uncertain hold.
The spokesman did not confirm if the company spoke with Nissan or not, but stated that a cooperation with Japanese competitor is one possible among other options. It was also told that the automaker could create the vehicle by itself if needed.
